Philosophy: Connecting learners with web and multimedia skills to build online resources for maximized website visitor experiences.
I am a higher education faculty member who specializes in instruction and research in Web development, Web 2.0 applications (social media), and digital media. Connecting teaching with the student’s most effective learning style is key to success for both teacher and learner. A student who enjoys acquiring knowledge and skills in web and social media technologies in the context of professional productivity is prepared to enter the workforce leading to career satisfaction. Beyond teaching the technical skills and applications to create attractive and useful websites, I am also concerned with students’ understanding of the target audience to maximize the website user experience. Design and creation of useful web and social media presences in real world contexts involves user-centered web design concepts backed by systematic usability testing; a value-added topic within web and multimedia skill development.
